People often struggle with contentment because we keep chasing dreams and goals, which is not wrong in itself. In fact, having purpose and the desire to contribute to our surroundings is meaningful. However, along the way, we sometimes forget why we started and begin to pursue things that feel empty or endlessly delayed by the idea of a โperfect timeโ a moment that may never come while we’re here in earth.
I believe we can still be successful while learning to appreciate small moments and call them โwins.โ Year ago, I learned this from my workmate, our manager name Joyce Odette Reyes our recent Marketing Head in our team from Texas, United States. She is also a counselor who shares advice and experiences about growth, gratitude, and success graduated from Harvard University. She often speaks about the importance of appreciating life and being grateful for even the small victories, and how her father guided and supported her journey.
From her, I learned the value of recognizing small accomplishments as meaningful. I used to feel like I was always running out of time, trying to achieve something just so I could prove my progress and glorify Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ through my efforts. But I realized that I have many accomplishments already more than I often give myself credit for. I had forgotten to appreciate myself, even in simple ways, like rewarding myself or acknowledging the evidence of my perseverance.
From that moment, I learned that happiness is not something reserved for a perfect time in the future. It is something we choose and practice today, by appreciating what we already have and the progress we are making.
